At least 17 people have been killed and 25 injured in a stampede at a religious festival in the city of Kolkata in eastern India. A police officer said an announcement caused a "commotion" after it started raining and the crowd rushed into a pavilion.
The injured victims have been taken to different hospitals for treatment, West Bengal State Minister Umesh Rai said.
