Philadelphia Police are still looking for several other offenders who were involved in the shooting murder of Police Officer Richard Mendez.
Officer Mendez and his partner Officer Raul Ortiz interrupted a vehicle theft at Philadelphia International Airport on 10/12/23 when the shooting occurred.
The suspects, at least 3 males, then fled the scene in a black Dodge Durango. That same Dodge Durango dropped off a dead 18 yr old male that was shot by the police during the initial confrontation. The 18 yr old male was pronounced dead.
That Durango was found a day later in New Jersey but had been set on fire.
Police still do not have anyone else in custody in reference to this murder and are asking for your help.
The reward offered by FOP Lodge 5 has grown to at least $225,000 for information leading to the apprehension of Police Officer Richard Mendez’s killers.
